Jon Ong is a Singaporean composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles with over 11 years of experience in film, TV, and commercials. Most recently, Jon served as the composer of the 2023 Sundance Film Festival official selection The Accidental Getaway Driver, from Director Sing J. Lee who was awarded the Sundance U.S. Dramatic Award for Best Directing.


Jon’s extensive credits include creating additional music for numerous films including the two-timeBAFTA nominated film Paddington; Lionsgate’s Love The Coopers starring Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton and Timothée Chalamet; Paramount’s Whiskey Tango Foxtrot; the critically acclaimed 2019psychological thriller Chain; and the Cinema Eye Honors nominated feature 17 Blocks from Emmy-winning Director Davy Rothbart.


In addition to film,Jon also created additional music for Hulu’s Dopesick; Amazon’s The Wheel of Time;Netflix’s six-time Emmy-nominated series A Series of Unfortunate Events; Peacock’s Joe vs. Carole; WakeUp Call starring Dwayne Johnson; and HBO’s award-winning series Pennyworth and His Dark Materials.


A true Swiss Army Knife, in addition to scoring for film and TV, Jon also served as an orchestrator forArthur Newman starring Oscar-winning actor Colin Firth, as well as the Amazon Original Series TheDangerous Book for Boyscreated by Bryan Cranston and Greg Mottola.


Beyond film and TV, Jon has also composed music for national commercials such as McDonald’s TheHamburglar and Nickelodeon’s digital series Chase Champion.


Originally from Singapore, Jon started out as a guitarist and later fell in love with film scoring whilestudying at the world renowned Berklee College of Music. He credits the original Star Wars trilogy andJurassic Park as his inspirations for pursuing film scoring. Having risen through the ranks of the filmscoring world in Los Angeles, he has worked with renowned composers Lorne Balfe, Nick Urata, andWilliam Ross.
